Davis Chamber Honors Nursery

The Yolo Crisis Nursery has been named the Nonprofit of the Year by the Davis Chamber of Commerce. Thank you to the Davis Chamber of Commerce Members for selecting the Yolo Crisis Nursery for this incredible honor.

This recognition underscores the tireless efforts and unwavering commitment of the Nursery to provide a safe haven for families facing crisis situations, ensuring the well-being of young children. This important work would not be possible without the support of our community. We are so grateful for your belief in our mission and generosity.

Since opening our doors in 2001, the Yolo Crisis Nursery has been a beacon of hope for over 8,750 children and their families in Yolo County. In a landscape where child abuse and neglect continue to pose significant challenges, our Nursery stands as a vital resource, offering immediate assistance and support to families grappling with financial hardships, domestic violence, homelessness, and other crises.

The past year has been marked by significant milestones for the Nursery. We broke ground on a new, state-of-the-art facility designed to expand our capacity and enhance our ability to serve the community. This new home, the first of its kind in California, will triple the number of children we can support, reaffirming our commitment to breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect.

Child abuse prevention programs are instrumental in fostering healthier families and communities. By intervening during critical moments of crisis, we protect vulnerable children and contribute long-term societal benefits, including improved mental health, reduced crime rates, and increased productivity.

Our success is deeply rooted in the support of our community. Whether through volunteering, financial contributions, or attending fundraising events, each individual plays a crucial role in helping us fulfill our mission. We are immensely grateful for the overwhelming support we have received.

The impact of the Nursery extends far beyond statistics. It is reflected in the transformative stories of families who have found solace and support within our organization. From providing essential resources to guiding families through the most challenging of circumstances, our dedicated staff ensures that every child receives the care and attention they deserve.

As we look to the future, we invite you to join us in our continued efforts to make a difference in the lives of children and families in Yolo County.
