Teeing Off for a Cause: Bob Clark Swings Big to Support Yolo Crisis Nursery

This September 12-14, Bob Clark, co-CEO of Clark Pacific and longtime supporter of Yolo Crisis Nursery, will once again take to the green to make a difference one swing at a time.
Bob Clark will participate in the L5 Investments Capital Cup, one of Northern California’s largest charity golf tournaments. This three-day event brings together 32 regional business leaders for a weekend of friendly competition, community spirit, and a shared commitment to philanthropy.
For Bob Clark, it’s not just about golf, it’s about giving back. This marks his tenth year participating in the Capital Cup L5 Golf Tournament and his second year supporting the Yolo Crisis Nursery, a cause that holds deep personal meaning for him.
“As a proud father and grandfather, I know that protecting children is an endeavor that has both immediate and future benefits for the children and their families, as well as our community at large. For this reason, I have chosen the Yolo Crisis Nursery as my charity,” says Bob Clark.
The Yolo Crisis Nursery provides emergency childcare and wraparound support services to families experiencing hardship, with a mission to create a safe environment and preserve families. It is often a lifeline for parents facing homelessness, domestic violence, mental health challenges, or medical emergencies with no safe place to turn.
Bob Clark has been a passionate advocate for the nursery for over a decade, not only as a donor but as a true ambassador of its mission. His efforts through the Capital Cup have raised vital funds to help keep children safe and supported during their most vulnerable moments.
This year, Clark has set another ambitious fundraising goal of $150,000, and he’s calling on his network and community to help him get there. Every dollar raised will go directly to supporting the nursery’s life-changing programs and services. Clark Pacific vendors have already contributed significantly, and we’re deeply grateful for their continued support. With strong momentum behind him, Clark is currently ranked number one on the leaderboard.
The need has never been greater. In response to the rising demand for emergency childcare and family support in our region, Yolo Crisis Nursery has relocated to a larger, state-of-the-art facility. This new space allows us to serve three times as many children as before and within just two weeks of opening, our daytime childcare programs were already nearing full capacity.
“With the new nursery, we’re stepping up in a big way to meet the urgent and rising demand in our community,” says Executive Director Heather Sleuter. “But growth comes with new challenges. More children mean more staff, more resources, and more community support. To ensure long-term sustainability, we need continued investment to maintain this level of care, not just today, but for years to come.”
The Yolo Crisis Nursery is a place where families in need find not just help, but hope. And thanks to leaders like Bob Clark, that hope is within reach for more families than ever before.
The L5 Investments Capital Cup isn’t your typical charity event. Thanks to the generosity of players and sponsors, nearly every dollar raised goes straight to local nonprofits. This three-day tournament held at premier Sacramento courses delivers a powerful community impact. Each golfer chooses a charity to support, and the funds they raise go directly to that cause, turning the competition into a powerful force for good. In just the past few years, the Capital Cup has raised over $10 million, making it the region’s second-largest fundraiser after the Big Day of Giving.
With the opening of the new nursery, the organization is on track to serve hundreds more families each year but we can’t do it alone. Support from community champions like Bob Clark and events like the Capital Cup ensure that the nursery has the resources to grow without compromising the quality of care.
As we gear up for this year’s Capital Cup tournament, we’re inspired by the unwavering commitment of leaders like Bob Clark, whose dedication continues to move our mission forward.
Through his decade-long involvement, he’s helped keep hundreds of children safe, families together, and futures brighter. With your help, this year’s effort can have the biggest impact yet.
Whether you’re a golf enthusiast, a community supporter, or someone who believes that every child deserves a safe start, this is your chance to get involved and make a difference.
