Thank You, Lyon, for Your $5,000 Grant

The Yolo Crisis Nursery recently received a $5,000 grant from the Lyon Cares Foundation, which is operated by Lyon Real Estate.

The Realtors and staff in Lyon’s Davis office chose the Nursery as recipient of the funds, which are raised through escrow and payroll contributions by Lyon agents and staff in addition to Lyon’s annual Golf Tournament.

“Lyon Real Estate has shown they care deeply about our community in many ways over the years, said Heather Sleuter, the Nursery’s executive director. “This generous grant to the Yolo Crisis Nursery is further evidence of their commitment and caring, and we are very appreciative.”

The grant will support the nursery’s programs to prevent child abuse, nurture healthy and resilient children, strengthen parents and preserve families, Sleuter said.

“Yolo Crisis Nursery is a place of hope and help for families in Yolo County,” said Pat Shea, president of Lyon Real Estate. “It gives us great pride to support them in their work to help families to become stable and strong.”

The grant to the Nursery is one of 15 being distributed throughout the region. Together they total $150,000, said a Lyon Cares Foundation representative.

The Foundation provides time, talent, and treasure to local nonprofits that make their communities a better place. Its partner in giving is the Sacramento Region Community Foundation.
