Join Us for Food & Fun at our March 24 Crab Feed
Join us for the 6th Annual “Krustaceans for Kids” Crab Feed. For the Yolo Crisis Nursery, this is the event of the year. So much crab, so much pasta and salad, so much fun!
The fun, food, and yes, fundraising, is set for Saturday, March 24, at the Woodland Senior and Community Center starting at 6:00 pm.
“Last year’s sold-out Crab Feed had an attendance of more than 500 people and earned record proceeds in excess of $60,000 for our operations. That’s almost ten percent of the annual budget,” said YCN Board President Jane Eadie. “The success of this year’s event will go a long way toward keeping the nursery financially healthy in order to continue serving Yolo County families.”
Headlining the major sponsor list again this year is Sutter Health. “Like Yolo Crisis Nursery, Sutter Health enhances the well-being of people in the communities we serve through a commitment to compassion and excellence in services,” said Rachael McKinney, CEO, Sutter Davis Hospital. “We applaud the Nursery for its commitment to the most vulnerable children and families in our community. Sutter Health is proud to be the Premier Sponsor of the Yolo Crisis Nursery’s 6th annual ‘Krustaceans for Kids’ Crab Feed.”
And quite a feed it will be. Plenty of delicious fresh crab with melted butter and cocktail sauce, plus pasta with red sauce, green salad, and tasty bread. It’s all you can eat, so come hungry. The volunteer servers will keep your table well stocked until you’ve had your fill. Beer, wine, and soft drinks will be available throughout the event at conveniently located no-host bars.
The servers are just part of a small army of volunteers organized by the Friends of the Yolo Crisis Nursery, the nursery’s fundraising volunteer group. The Friends have successfully produced this event since the first crab feed in 2013. They’ve been working diligently for months to make sure this year’s event is the best ever.
The fun doesn’t end with the food, as the silent auction and the ever-popular Giant Raffle are back, as well as the live auction. Dr. John Chuck will reprise his role as auctioneer for a great line-up of items that starts with a tasty array of homemade desserts.
Last year’s event sold out well in advance, so don’t delay.
Several levels of sponsorship are still available, starting at just $500, and all of them include tickets to the event and wine service at the sponsors’ tables.
