Monthly Giving Circle Membership

By joining the Monthly Giving Circle, you empower the Nursery to provide a safe-haven for children by providing essential childcare items. Your monthly contribution provides children with stability when they need it the most. Monthly Giving Circle members give at an amount that fits their monthly budget, with the accumulative gift making a significant impact that keeps our daily operations running smoothly.

• $25 per month provides one case of diapers or one box of formula for a family.
• $50 per month provides essential clothing such as a warm coat, shoes, and other essentials for one child.
• $75 per month provides emergency child transportation.
• $100 per month provides one safe stay for a child (for a night, a week maybe we include both options)
• A Special Gift amount per month determined by you. Choose a monthly denomination that fits your budget. Every dollar makes a difference.

Planned Giving

For donors who want to make a lasting statement beyond their lifetime. This process can be as simple as a one page addition to your existing will or  trust that is notarized and recorded.

• What it is: Include the Yolo Crisis Nursery as a beneficiary in your will, living trust, or estate plan. Gifts can be as simple as designation of a one time amount, a percentage of your assets, or other options at your discretion.
• Why it matters: Allows you to make a lasting statement beyond your lifetime without affecting your current cash flow or everyday living expenses.
• Flexibility: Bequests are entirely revocable—you can adjust your plans if your family’s financial needs change.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)

For donors looking for a flexible, strategic approach to their annual philanthropy.

• What it is: Contribute cash, stock, or assets to a dedicated account, then recommending grants to the Yolo Crisis Nursery over time.
• Immediate Deduction: You receive an immediate federal income tax deduction the moment you fund your DAF.
• Tax-Free Growth: Your funds are invested and grow tax-free, creating more “charitable capital” for future impact.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions

For donors aged 70½ or older who want a highly tax-efficient way to give.

• What it is: A direct transfer of funds from your traditional IRA straight to our organization (for donors aged 70½+).
• The Tax Perk: The transfer is excluded from your taxable income, offering savings whether you itemize deductions or not.
• RMD Offset: If you are 73+, a QCD satisfies your annual Required Minimum Distribution, keeping you out of a higher tax bracket.

Non-Cash Assets (Stock & Real Estate Gifts)

For donors who want to minimize capital gains taxes while maximizing their giving.

• What it is: Donating appreciated securities, mutual funds, or real estate directly to the Yolo Crisis Nursery.
• Double Benefit: You pay 0% capital gains tax on the appreciation and can claim a deduction for the full fair market value.
• More to the Mission: Because we are a nonprofit, 100% of the asset’s value goes straight to work, bypasses taxes entirely.
